Step-by-Step (in 6 steps) Guide to Traveling by Train from Chopin airport.

Step 1: Go to the Airport Train Station

⭐Alternative:
To get from the airport, you can take a taxi using an app like Uber or Bolt. Go to the correct station as noted in Step 4.
You need to choose between Warszawa Wschodnia (Warsaw East) and Warszawa Centralna (Warsaw Central).
Make sure to go to Warszawa Wschodnia, as the direct train departs from there now.
The estimated cost is €10-15. If you choose this option, you can skip ahead to Step 4 to purchase your train ticket to Hajnówka.

Step 2: Buy a Local Train Ticket

You can use a standard Warsaw Public Transport (ZTM) ticket for any train journey between Chopin Airport and Warszawa Centralna / Warszawa Wschodnia (due to the „Joint Ticket” agreement).

• At the Airport Station:
  Use the multilingual ticket machines (biletomat) located at the station entrance.
  They accept credit/debit cards and cash (PLN).

• Onboard the Train:
  Most trains have ticket machines inside where you can pay by card.

• Mobile Apps:
  Buy tickets in advance using apps like SkyCash ( android | ios ):
  Inside the app:
  Navigate to the section: Public Transport
  Select your location: Warszawa
  Choose the fare type: Standard price
  Select the ticket you need: 75-min. ticket 
  Complete the purchase: Buy and Pay

⭐ IMPORTANT: VALIDATE YOUR TICKET!
You must validate your ticket after boarding.

Validating Tickets on a Smartphone App:
To do this, use the app to scan the QR code located inside the vehicle (usually near the doors).
Your ticket is only valid after you scan the code.
Validating Paper Tickets:
Insert your ticket into one of the validators (usually a yellow or red box) to have it stamped with the date and time.

Step 3: Travel from Airport to the Correct Warsaw Station 

Take the train to Warszawa Wschodnia station (East Station) for direct train or Warszawa Centralna station (Central Station), depending on which station your train to Hajnówka departs from (verify here: https://rozklad-pkp.pl/en ).

Two train companies provide transportation to and from Warsaw Chopin Airport:
1. SKM (Szybka Kolej Miejska): These are the red/white trains that operate on lines such as S2 and S3.
Note that the S2 line may does not go through Warsaw Central station.

2. KM (Koleje Mazowieckie): These are the yellow/green/white trains.

⭐ IMPORTANT: Please always check the station list on the screen inside the train or ask the conductor to be sure.

Step 4: Buy Your Train Ticket to Hajnówka

There are two direct trains to Hajnówka each day (many more with interchange, which are listed below in the table).

• Morning departure: 10:25
• Evening departure: 19:27

Ticket info:
The ticket to Hainówka costs approximately around €10-15, and the journey takes 2 or 3 hours, depending on the train.

• At the ticket office (Kasa):
  Purchase your ticket from the staffed ticket counters at the station.
  
• Online:
  Buy your ticket in advance to secure a seat.

• Onboard from the conductor:
  If you are unable to buy a ticket beforehand, you must find the conductor immediately after boarding the train (before you sit down) and ask to purchase one.
• Contact the organizer:
  As a final option, the event organizer can purchase a ticket for you and send it electronically.

Step 5: Take the Train to Hajnówka and Inform the Organizer

Once you are on your train to Hajnówka, please send a message to the organizer with your train’s scheduled arrival time.

Step 6: Arrival in Hajnówka and Transfer to Narewka

An organized transfer will be waiting at the Hajnówka train station to take you to the retreat location in Narewka.
The drive is approximately 20 minutes.
